According to the infinite monkey theorem, if a monkey sits at a typewriter and hits random keys for an infinite amount time, it will almost surely type a given text, for example the complete works of William Shakespeare.
The theorem is designed to illustrate the meaning of infinity. The chances of a monkey typing out Hamlet by accident in a given amount of time is nearly zero (but not zero). But with unlimited, or infinite, time, the monkey will eventually type Hamlet.
