Milk, Sugar, and Zits

According to this article, drinking milk and eating a diet high in sugar and other refined carbohydrates will cause acne. The author, a practicing physician, reviewed 21 observational studies and six clinical trials that found "clear links" between acne and a person's diet. Two large studies found that drinking milk "increased both the number of people who got acne and its severity." Diets with a high glycemic load were also linked to acne. Foods with a high glycemic index include sugar, white rice, and white flour products (pasta, bread, etc). These foods cause insulin spikes. Hormones in the milk (natural hormones, so organic milk is no exception) and insulin both cause skin to form pimples.

Check out the article for more info and diet advice if you're trying to reduce your acne.
